Connected Credentials

Track your App Store, Google Play and Firebase analytics in an easy-to-use interface

Connect your App Store Connect credentials

Sensor Tower’s App Intelligence product allows you to connect your App Store Connect account to the platform so that you can pull in your sales metrics and other useful analytics data.

This way you can track how well your apps are doing, all within the same platform. You can then run analytics on this data alongside Sensor Tower’s in an easy to use interface.

There are currently two supported methods for authentication:

  • We recommend creating a new Apple ID, giving that account the Finance Role in your Apple Developer Account, and signing in to Sensor Tower using that Apple ID.

In this document, we’ll walk through inviting a new user to your Apple Developer account, creating an Apple ID for that user, and signing in to Sensor Tower with the new account.

You may need to create a new email account in your company’s domain as Apple does not allow emails with plus “+” characters.

    1. First, sign in to App Store Connect. You will likely need to enter a verification code to sign in.asc_step_1.png
    2. Navigate to the Users and Access page. asc_step_2.png
    3. Click on the + plus icon to create a new user. asc_step_3.png
    4. Create a new user.
You can use an email in your company’s domain, or we can provide you with one if needed. The new user must have the role of Finance or Admin for Sensor Tower to pull data reports. Learn more about Apple Developer roles. asc_step_4.png
    5. The new user's email address will receive an email with the subject: 'You’ve been invited to App Store Connect'. Click Accept Invitation. asc_step_5.png
    6. Create a new Apple ID from the link sent by Apple.
The password must have 8 or more characters, multiple upper and lower case letters, and at least one number. Make sure to save this password: you’ll need it to connect the account to Sensor Tower.
    7. Provide your own answers to the security questions. You may need them to access or recover the account.
    8. Once you have completed all required fields, click Continue. asc_step_6.png
    9. Apple will send another email with the subject line: 'Verify your Apple ID email address'. This email will contain a six-digit verification code. Enter the code from that email into the App Store Connect prompt, and click Continue. asc_step_7.png
    10. Finally, agree to the Terms of Service and click Accept to create the account. asc_step_8.png

    11. You’re almost there!
Sign in to sensortower.com, click on your account name in the top-right corner, and then navigate to Credentials.
      asc_step_9.png
    12. On the Credentials page, click Add Credentials.
      asc_step_10.png
    13. On the Connect Your Accounts modal, click Add App Store Account. asc_step_11.png
    14. Enter the email and password of the new Apple ID you created and click Continue. asc_step_12.png
    15. Once prompted, enter in the 6 digit two-factor authentication (2FA) code as you did earlier when creating the account.
At this point, we will add a Sensor Tower trusted phone number to the account in order to keep the credential connected when the 2FA session expires. asc_step_12.jpeg
    16. That’s it! Sensor Tower has been added to your App Store Connect account.

  • If you are unable to use the recommended method, we also support signing in with your existing Apple ID and completing a two-factor or two-step sign-in.

This sign-in method will expire after 30 days.
If you change your Apple ID password at any time in the future, all app-specific passwords will be revoked, and you’ll have to reconnect to Sensor Tower.

    1. Sign in to sensortower.com, click on your account name in the top-right corner, and then navigate to Credentials.
      asc_step_9.png
    2. On the Credentials page, click Add Credentials.asc_step_10.png
    3. On the Connect Your Accounts modal, click Add App Store Account.asc_step_11.png
    4. Enter the email and password of your App Store Connect Account and click Continue. asc_step_12.png
    5. If there are trusted devices associated with your Apple ID, those devices will be notified that an Apple ID Sign In has been requested. Click Allow.
    6. If your Apple ID doesn't have trusted devices, it should have at least one trusted phone number.
If there is only one trusted phone number, the verification code will be sent to that number in an SMS.
If there is more than one trusted phone number, you will need to select a phone number you have access to from a list, and click Continue to trigger Apple sending the verification code to that phone number:
      asc_step_17.png
    7. Once you have the verification code, enter it here and click Continue. asc_step_12.jpeg
    8. At this point, we will add a Sensor Tower trusted phone number to the account in order to keep the credential connected when the 2FA session expires.
This number can be removed at any point from your account, however you will need to completely reconnect the credential every month for your data to remain in sync.asc_step_13.png

That’s it! Sensor Tower has been added to your App Store Connect account.
