With Rating Analysis, you can analyze daily and cumulative rating averages for an app or group of apps over time. Rating Analysis can be charted in the following ways:

• Star Rating
• Country
• App

Daily Ratings: Ratings for a specific day
Average Ratings (Daily Average): The average of the Daily Ratings
Average Ratings: (All time Average): The average based on all time cumulative ratings (Since developers can reset their ratings, the all time would be after a reset)

Star Rating Breakdown

In the Rating breakdown, only Daily Ratings are available as a chart by type (and not Average Ratings). The user can select one or multiple apps to be aggregated in the chart and table for cohort analysis. The chart for this view plots the total 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 star ratings for each day. The tooltip shows the % breakdown of each, the total number of ratings, as well as the average rating for that day.

The table below the chart shows the total and average rating over the selected time period. The user can select the hyperlink to go to the app view for the Review Analysis page and be able to view the actual reviews relating to that group of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 star ratings. The hyperlink is available when only one app (and not multiple apps) are selected. This is because the Review Analysis page only allows for one app at a time. The Review Analysis page also requires a country filter; the automatic country filter selected is the one with the most downloads.

Country Breakdown

In the Country breakdown, both Daily Ratings and Average Ratings are available as a chart by type only for the App Store (and not Google Play).

The Average Ratings chart has another Daily Average option available in the drop down to go along with the All time Average option. The difference is that All-time Average shows total cumulative rating which is displayed in the App and Google Play Store while the Daily Average is the average rating on a daily basis calculated by Sensor Tower.

The country breakdown displays the top nine countries by rating, as well as other (group of all remaining countries) for all these charts by type. As with the Ratings breakdown, the user can select one or multiple apps to be aggregated in the chart and table for cohort analysis.

The table below the chart shows the total and average rating by country over the selected time period. The user can select the hyperlink to go to the app view for the Review Analysis page and be able to view the actual reviews relating to that specific country.

App Breakdown

In the App breakdown, both Daily Ratings and Average Ratings are also available as a chart by type.

In this view, each selected app gets its own series in the chart, rather than the data being aggregated.

The table below the chart for the App breakdown shows the total and average rating for each selected app over the selected time period. The user can select the hyperlink to go to the app view for the Review Analysis page and be able to view the actual reviews relating to that specific app.

Review Analysis Hyperlinks

Access the Review Analysis hyperlinks by clicking on the country, app, or star level in each section’s table below the graph. The hyperlinks will maintain the same date range and filters selected. The hyperlink will only show up when one app is selected in the rating or country view, as it cannot link to more than one app’s Review Analysis page.
